Paul Conway
Mid Ulster
The freedom to run my own business, backed by a trusted national brand and brilliant support network. I knew it was the right fit straight away.
A trusted face, bringing repair expertise home
Paul Conway launched Pacifica Local in Northern Ireland, covering the Mid Ulster area, in November 2024 – becoming Pacifica Local's first ever franchise partner in Northern Ireland. Previously, Paul had spent over a decade working in sales and customer service within the home appliance retail sector, developing a strong understanding of customer needs and deep product knowledge.
Alongside his professional career, Paul serves as a retained firefighter with the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service – a commitment that speaks to his dedication to supporting his community and his ability to stay calm and effective under pressure.
The decision to move into franchise ownership came from a desire to build something of his own while leveraging his existing experience. Having identified a clear gap in the local market, Paul was drawn to Pacifica Local for its balance of independence and support. Structured training, strong brand reputation, and ongoing guidance provided him with the confidence to launch and begin serving customers from day one.

The freedom he wanted, with the safety net he needed
Paul had spent years in home appliance retail watching customers struggle to find reliable repair help. He saw the gap in his local market clearly – and when he heard about the Pacifica Local franchise opportunity through a warranty provider, the model immediately stood out as the right way to fill it.
For Paul, the appeal was straightforward: the freedom to run his own business in the community he knows and cares about, backed by a trusted national brand and a brilliant support network. He credits his background in communication, problem-solving, and customer service with enabling a smooth transition into business ownership.
"There's a real demand in the region for a reliable, professional repair service. Pacifica Local offered everything I wanted – the freedom to run my own business, knowing I had the safety net of being backed by a trusted national brand and brilliant support network. I knew it was the right fit straight away."
"The whole experience has been superb from the start. Before I knew it, I was out on the road and taking on jobs both from warranty work provided by Pacifica Local and from local customers."

Established in Mid Ulster, growing with purpose
Since launching in November 2024, Paul has built a growing reputation across Mid Ulster as the region's trusted appliance repair expert – with a clear plan to scale further.
First in Northern Ireland
Paul's launch in November 2024 marked a significant milestone – establishing Pacifica Local's first franchise in Northern Ireland and opening up an underserved market to a trusted, nationally-backed repair service.
Out on the Road from Day One
Thanks to Pacifica's warranty work allocation and strong training programme, Paul was serving customers almost immediately after launching. No slow build – straight into meaningful work from the start.
A Growing Local Customer Base
Combining Pacifica-provided warranty jobs with his own locally generated work, Paul is steadily building a trusted reputation across Mid Ulster – rooted in the community knowledge and personal service ethic he's developed over more than a decade.
Apprentice & Team Plans in Place
With ambitions to bring on an apprentice and build a small team, Paul is already planning the next phase of growth. His goal is to become the definitive go-to appliance repair expert across the region – and he's building toward it with intent.
Out on the road, doing the job properly
Paul operates Pacifica Local Mid Ulster as a sole business owner across the area he's spent his life in. Each day is a mix of technical work and customer relationships – the kind of combination he's built his career around, now in a context that's entirely his own.
His background in customer service means he understands what people need when something goes wrong at home: fast, honest, effective help from someone they trust. That commitment to doing the job properly and leaving customers with a smile shapes every job he takes on.
Paul credits his progress to skills developed across his career – communication, problem-solving, and a customer-first approach – combined with a willingness to learn that has enabled a smooth transition into engineering. His retained firefighter role also plays a part: that calm, methodical approach to pressure-filled situations translates directly into the repair environment.
"My goal is to become the go-to person for appliance repairs in the area – someone people know they can trust for honest, high-quality work. I'm also planning to bring in an apprentice and, longer-term, I'd like to build a small team so I can really focus on the business side of things."
Superb from the very start
Paul describes his experience with Pacifica Local's support as "superb from the start" – and for Pacifica's first Northern Ireland partner, that standard of support was particularly important. Launching into an uncharted regional market required backing he could count on from day one.
City & Guilds Assured Training
Paul's decade in appliance retail gave him strong product knowledge – but repair engineering required a new skillset. The City & Guilds training programme gave him the structured, accredited pathway to bridge that gap with confidence and credibility.
Warranty Work from Day One
Paul was out on the road almost immediately after launching. Pacifica's warranty work allocation meant he didn't have to wait to build a client base from scratch – he was delivering value to customers and generating income from the very start.
National Brand in a New Market
As the first Pacifica Local franchise in Northern Ireland, Paul benefited from the weight of the national brand behind his launch. Customers who might not yet know Paul individually already knew and trusted the Pacifica name – giving him immediate credibility.
Customer-First Values Reinforced
Paul's background in customer service and the Fire & Rescue Service means people are at the heart of everything he does. Pacifica's ethos of honest, high-quality workmanship aligned perfectly with those values – making the model feel like a natural fit from day one.
Responsive, Encouraging Team
Paul describes the whole Pacifica experience as "superb from the start." The responsiveness and encouragement of the franchise team has been central to his confidence as a new business owner – knowing help is always available when it's needed.
Growth Planning & Business Support
Paul's ambitions go well beyond operating solo – an apprentice, then a team, then focused business leadership. Pacifica's business assistance is already helping him structure and plan that next phase of growth with confidence.
"Pacifica Local offered everything I wanted – the freedom to run my own business, knowing I had the safety net of being backed by a trusted national brand and brilliant support network. The whole experience has been superb from the start."
