Read moreA new year is bringing a new local business to Derby, as long-time resident and experienced professional Fawaz Ibrahim launches Pacifica Local Derby, offering fast, reliable appliance repairs to homes across the city.

Pacifica Local Derby officially launched on 6th January, marking the start of an exciting new chapter for Fawaz, whose career has been closely tied to the region for more than a decade.
Having worked in the competitive retail sector since 2012, Fawaz has spent years honing his skills in leadership, customer service, and business operations while working closely with Derby-based teams, customers, and other local businesses. But behind the management roles was a growing ambition to build something of his own – and to put his technical strengths to hands-on use.
“Over the years, I realised I wanted to do more than manage operations – I wanted to fix problems directly and build a business that really helps people,” said Fawaz. “That’s what led me into appliance repair and engineering.”
Alongside his retail experience, Fawaz brings a strong technical background. He previously qualified as a Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) – one of the most challenging certifications in the networking industry – developing advanced diagnostic, analytical, and structured problem-solving skills. Combined with his City & Guilds professional appliance repair training, this experience has prepared him to tackle complex faults quickly and efficiently.
“That technical mindset is invaluable in appliance repair,” explained Fawaz. “When something breaks down at home, people want it diagnosed properly and fixed fast so life can get back to normal.”
Through Pacifica Local Derby, Fawaz is now combining his local knowledge, customer-first approach, and technical expertise to deliver a trusted repair service for households across Derby and the surrounding areas.
“I’ve spent a huge part of my professional life in Derby, so launching my own business here felt right,” he added. “Every day is different – meeting people, solving problems and helping households get their appliances back up and running. Doing that for a community I know so well makes it even more rewarding.”
Looking ahead, Fawaz is committed to continuing to develop his skills while embedding Pacifica Local Derby at the heart of the local community. “My goal is simple. I want this to be a business that people trust – a local service they feel confident calling, knowing the job will be done properly by someone who genuinely cares about high standards and supporting the community.”
